Washington Avenue Bridge
I was in Waco for an airshow and decided to go downtown and see the bridges. I photographed sunset through the Washington Avenue Bridge (the Waco Steel Bridge) from the Waco Suspension Bridge. It's an extraordinary example of a through-truss bridge (specifically a Pennsylvania truss), spanning 450 feet over the Brazos River. On this particular day, the Brazos was still at flood stage, as can be seen in the park at right, because of heavy rains in Central Texas the week before.
