Reynisdrangar
The basalt sea stacks at Reynisfjara Beach are known as Reynisdrangar. The Reynisdrangar are the subject of legends of trolls. One such legend claims two trolls dragged a three-masted ship to land unsuccessfully at Reynisfjara and when daylight broke, they turned to rock.
We arrived late at Reynisfjara late in the afternoon, and the Reynisdrangar are the first scene I photographed. To smooth the waves, I used a ten-stop neutral density filter.
