I loved all of the angles and curves in the sanctuary and decided to use a fisheye lens to create a kaleidoscopic look. I made the beautiful chandelier near the front of the sancturary the focal point for the photo. There are four so-called painted churches in the vicinity of Schulenberg, Texas. This particular church, Saints Cyril and Methodiious Catholic Church, is in the more or less ghost town of Dubina. The present church dates to 1911, though the interior is a recreation of the original interior that was for some mysterious reason painted over.
