I had gone out late in the afternoon to scout Driftwood Beach for a sunrise shoot. Later that night, I realized that the moon was full and would make a great photo, so I drove back out to take some night photos. This photo of a southern live oak in the rising tide was the best of my photos that night. | 17 March 2022 | Jekyll Island, Georgia, United States | 45 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 12

I was looking for a place to photograph sunset in Rockport and spotted Howard Murph Memorial Park near the airport on the map. When I arrived, I looked around for something to provide context to the photo. I decided the little gravel bar would do the trick. The ducks cooperated by swimming across the reflection of the sun. The cirrus clouds diffused the sunlight nicely to eliminate lens flare. | 19 March 2018 | Rockport, Texas, United States | 36 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6
Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island is a gold mine for photographers. I drove out to the beach for sunrise and found a rising tide. At dawn, Venus was still visible in the southeastern sky and can be seen in the upper right of the photo. | 18 March 2022 | Jekyll Island, Georgia, United States | 45 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 9
I was at Lighthouse Beach Park on Sanibel Island for sunrise and caught the sun coming up over a condo on Fort Myers Beach, which sits across San Carlos Bay from the island. I used a 3-stop neutral density filter to smooth the water. | 14 March 2018 | Sanibel Island, Florida, United States | 36 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6

Reynisfjara Beach is a black sand beach of volcanic basalt that sits off the Ring Road (Highway 1) of Iceland. The rock formation in the distance is Dyrhólaey, which is a double arch formed of basalt. I was able to catch the sun peaking through the clouds, forming a small sunburst. | October 2017 | Vík, Iceland | 36 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6
The basalt sea stacks at Reynisfjara Beach are known as Reynisdrangar. The Reynisdrangar are the subject of legends of trolls. One such legend claims two trolls dragged a three-masted ship to land unsuccessfully at Reynisfjara and when daylight broke, they turned to rock.We arrived late at Reynisfjara late in the afternoon, and the Reynisdrangar are the first scene I photographed. To smooth the waves, I used a ten-stop neutral density filter.Date: 16 October 2017Location: Vik, IcelandOriginal resolution: 36 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6

We were on the Dyrhólaey promontory when I took this photo. We were on the table rock peninsula of Dyrhólaey late in the afternoon, taking in various views of the countryside and Reynisfjara beach. The ground here arcs downhill in a deceiving fashion so that shadows from the rocks and grass are exagerated.Date: 16 October 2016Location: Vik, IcelandOriginal resolution: 36 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6
