This was a tough image to create. From the bluff, 14 mm wasn't quite wide enough to capture the entire bend, so I took two photos at 14 mm and stitched them together. The curvature of the river isn't quite true, but the view still looks realistic.Date: 10 August 2018Location: Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota, United StatesOriginal resolution: 36 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC 7

Our one night in Sedona, we got there late in the afternoon. The desk manager at trhe hotel recommended that we drive out southwest of town to get a good view of Cathedral Rock at sunset. On our second day at Grand Canyon, we had a guide help with views and light. Later in the afternoon, we stopped at Lipan Point. Two of the points of interest there are Apollo Temple, visible at top center, and the Unkar Creek rapids, at the base of a massive rock wall between the two bends in the river.Date: 17 March 2020Location: Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, United StatesOriginal resolution: 45 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 9

On our last day at Grand Canyon, we went back to Mather's Point one last time to look out at the canyon. The skies at mid-morning were a mix of snow clouds to the north and sunlight on the South Rim.I noticed that the peak of Isis Temple was passing in and out of sunlight and waited to take this shot when the peak was highlighted.Distances in the canyon are deceptive. In this case, Isis Temple sits about five miles away from where I took the photo.Date: 18 March 2020Location: Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, United StatesOriginal resolution: 45 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 9

I was hesitant to take a flight around Denali, mainly because such flights tend to be a bit expensive for what you see. I have to say that thinking doesn't apply here. We took a flight with Talkeetna Air and enjoyed every minute of it. I was flying in the right-hand seat, next to the pilot, which is challenged by the propeller being in much of the view, not to mention the reflections off the cockpit glass. Nevertheless, I was able to capture this photo of Denali from about 12,000 feet. | 29 June 2022 | Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska, United States | Nikon D850 | 45 MP | Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 12

The old wireless receiving station of RCA Marconi station KPH sits on the G Ranch property of Point Reyes National Seashore. The station is famous for both its art deco building and its driveway, lined in Monterey cypress. We had stopped by earlier in the day for a tour and then came back, hoping for good light in the trees. We were a bit late for golden hour but still had decent lighting for a long exposure at dusk.Date: 28 J anuary 2017Location: Point Reyes National Seashore, California, United StatesOriginal resolution: 36 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC and Adobe Photoshop

Our cruise ship spent the Fourth of July in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Once we arrived at the end of the Tarr Inlet, the ship did a slow rotation so that all sides could see the various glaciers. I decided that I liked this photo of the Margerie Glacier best in black-and-white.As best I can tell, that's Mount Tlinget with the cirrus clouds forming above it as the winds pass over the peak.Date: 4 July 2022Location: Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, United StatesOriginal resolution: 45 MPProcessing: Processed from RAW using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 12
